Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account, logging in as a guest, or otherwise using THBT (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These Terms form a binding agreement between you and [OWNER LEGAL NAME], based in the United Arab Emirates, who operates the Service ("we," "us").

2. What the Service does

THBT is a two-team trivia game played on a single device (phone, tablet, or computer). Players split into two teams, alternate picking subcategories, and answer timed questions verbally. The Service provides the question bank, scoring, and timers.

The Service is a game intended for entertainment. Questions and answers are curated for general knowledge — we do not guarantee factual correctness and users should not rely on the Service as an authoritative reference for any purpose.

3. Your account

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
• You are responsible for keeping your password confidential.
• You are responsible for all activity under your account.
• One account per person. Do not share, sell, or transfer your account.
• Provide a working email; we use it to verify you and contact you about material changes or security issues.

You may delete your account at any time — see Data deletion instructions.

4. Free plays and subscriptions

New accounts get two free games. Continued play beyond the free allowance requires an active subscription.

Auto-renewing subscriptions (via Apple In-App Purchase)

The following applies to subscriptions purchased through the iOS app:

• Subscription tiers: Weekly (USD $1.99/wk), Monthly (USD $4.99/mo), Yearly (USD $39.99/yr). Prices are charged in your local currency equivalent as determined by Apple.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at the confirmation of purchase.
• Your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the renewal price.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription by going to your Apple ID Account Settings after purchase. Canceling during an active period does not provide a prorated refund for the remainder of the period, but your subscription remains active until the end of the current paid period.
• No refunds are provided by us for the unused portion of any paid period. Refund requests are handled by Apple under Apple's refund policy.
• Any unused portion of a free trial (if offered) is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Attempt to access, scrape, copy, or redistribute the question bank in bulk.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise try to extract the source code.
• Attempt to circumvent the free-games limit or subscription entitlement.
• Use the Service to send spam, harass other users, or perform any illegal activity.
• Upload, input, or transmit any content that is hateful, defamatory, infringing, or otherwise unlawful (this includes team names, which are visible to other players at the same device).
• Probe, scan, or test the security of the Service beyond your own account.
• Use automated means (bots, crawlers) to interact with the Service.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these rules.

6. Content and intellectual property

All game design, artwork, code, question bank, and text — excluding content you input yourself — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other applicable laws. You get a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for personal, non-commercial play. You do not get any other rights.

Team names and any text you enter into the Service remain yours. By entering them, you grant us a license to display them within the Service solely for the purpose of running your game session.

7. Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time by deleting your account.

We can suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if continuing the Service for you would create legal or security risk. In case of termination, unused free games or subscription time will not be refunded unless required by law.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, non-infringement, or uninterrupted availability. Questions and answers are curated for entertainment and may contain errors.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable UAE law, our aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in subscription fees during the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD 20.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill.

10. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. You agree that any dispute arising from or related to the Service will be brought exclusively in the competent courts of the UAE.

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app at least 14 days before taking effect. The current version is always at thbt.ae/terms. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
